Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin – America’s Top Middleweight

Off his impressive performance last weekend in
Cancun, dismantling Scottish southpaw Craig McEwan (19-2, 10 KOs) live on HBO en
route to a sixth-round stoppage, unbeaten defeated middleweight contender Peter “Kid
Chocolate” Quillin (26-0, 20 KOs) has arguably established himself as the No. 1
American middleweight.
“I agree,” the 28-year-old Quillin said about being the top 160-pounder in the US. “I
think I proved that against McEwan. I’ll fight any of the top middleweights from this
country. I’m also one of the best middleweights in the world. I may not be ready
to fight Sergio Martinez right now but, after one or two more fights against top 10
opponents, I’ll be ready to fight him for the world title. I want a world title fight in the
United States, Las Vegas or New York City, and all the other world champions only
seem to want to fight in their own backyards (WBA’s Russian Dimitry Pirog, WBC’s
Mexican Julio Cedar Chavez Jr., IBF’s Aussie Daniel Geale and WBA’s German Felix
Sturm.) I will keep working hard to get better.”

I think about destroy, destroy, destroy, and punish, punish, punish. That’s what wins fights and when you are dominating and doing what you want to do at will, and that doesn’t mean you can’t do more, but it just means the game I have now is working. Being 26-0 with 20 knockouts don’t come easy, man. So by all means, I have to be very fortunate and be blessed that I am undefeated and I am a powerhouse because I am winning by stoppage. You know, 5 stoppages and I haven’t been past the 6th round in a year and a half…Early 2012 is when I would like to be back on, or no later than March, but I would love to be on right away. I want to take a little time off and spend some time with my family and keep advancing my mind to make sure that everything that I do is going to advance my career. I have to take this fight, look at it, and see how to take it to the next level from here,” stated undefeated middleweight contender Peter Quillin, who talked about his recent TKO victory over Craig McEwan this past Saturday, his future plans, and much more. Peter Quillin Stops Craig McEwan in The Sixth Round

The HBO crew at ringside in Cancun, Mexico declared that unbeaten middleweight Peter Quillin has arrived.

The transplanted New Yorker certainly has tons of upside. But the statement itself was much like his 6th round stoppage over Craig McEwan – a tad premature.

Quillin boxed his way to a virtual shutout over the Scottish prospect through the first five rounds of action in their televised co-feature.
